A one-week hike along the Atlantic coast will leave you stunned by magnificent and unique landscapes of Southern Morocco. Every hike is accompanied by berbers, indigenous guides, with their dromedaries (pack animals). We will cross dense forests of argan trees and walk along golden beaches. Many overnight stays will take place in nature, in beautiful locations looking out at the vast ocean or at waterfalls, sleeping under the clear and unpolluted starry night sky. At the ocean horizon you can take delight in striking sunsets every day. Finally, the country’s name – Morocco – the land of the setting sun – brings it to bear. In the picturesque harbour town of Essaouira you can enjoy walks in the labyrinth of interwoven streets and experience the unique flair of this city. In Marrakech, you will meet Moroccan jugglers, snake charmers, storytellers, soothsayer, artists and musicians, and stroll through the colourful, magnificent souks.

After your arrival in Marrakech we will be waiting for you outside the airport building. According to the new legislation, only passengers are allowed to enter the airport building, so we kindly ask you to exit the terminal and look for the sign of the agency at the exit. A member of our team will then welcome you and drive you to your hotel in the city center. No activities are planned for this day, thus you can indulge in free leisure time. Relax or explore on your own the fabulous souks of Marrakech with their lively oriental Moroccan merchants and numerous colourful stalls. Marrakech is a safe city with many banks and currency exchange stores if you would like to change money. Our staff will be happy to advise you at any time.
Distance 250km, approx. 3.5 hours In the morning, following a full breakfast, we leave Marrakech and take the agency bus to the charming fishing village Tafedna. Our travel leads us through the interior of the country and along the Atlantic coast with its golden beaches and bare rock formations. In Tafedna we will be joined by our berber accompanying team. Their dromedaries will take care of transporting your luggage during the tour and occasionally you as well. In the afternoon you will have free time to relax and to go for walks in the village and on the seashore. We spend the night in traditional full- sized tents.
Hike approx. 4-5 hours The first stage of our hike starts in Tafedna. We walk through thick argan tree forests that have been growing in Morocco for 80 million years and have been cultivated for centuries for oil production. These trees also help to prevent desertification. Then we stroll along the golden beach to our camp in Sidi Ahmed Sayeh. We have kept the rest of the day open for you: enjoy the sun on the beach, swim, walk, or meditate. We stay overnight in tents in our camp.
Hike approx. 4 hours Another striking hike awaits today! We walk along an endless rocky coastline with a wonderful view of the ocean, the giant rock formations and the countless small waterfalls on the way to the famous waterfall of Sidi M'Barek. Our camp for today is exceptionally close to the waterfall, between the golden sand dunes, with direct access to the beach. We spend the night in tents.
Hike approx. 3 hours. Distance 50km, approx. 1 hour. We hike again along the wide seashore to the village Sidi Kaouki, a place known, above all, as a paradise for wind and watersport enthusiasts. We enjoy our lunch in the cool shade under the treetops and say goodbye to our accompanying team. Then we take the agency bus to the stunning harbour city of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast, which has an indescribably sensual flair and captivates you from the very first moment. In 2001, Essaouira was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. We spend the night in a riad.
We use the morning to get oriented in the city and walk together through the labyrinth of small charming alleys of the old town to the Skala de la Kasbah, the city fortification, where there is a collection of cannons from the 17th century. These were used in the past to defend the city against attacks from the sea. On the descent to the harbour of Essaouira you can relish the sunset on the sea horizon. You also have the chance to taste delicious local fish dishes. We spend the night in a riad.
Distance 190km, approx. 2 hours We return on our bus to the "Pearl of the South", Marrakech. Enjoy the relaxed schedule in Marrakech. You have already gotten to know the city. Our hotel is located near Djemaa el Fna Square where jugglers, snake charmers, storytellers, soothsayer, artists and musicians gather. There are numerous stalls where culinary specialties of the region are offered. You can also find souvenirs and gifts and relax in the traditional oriental hammam. (A Moroccan hammam consists of a bathhouse with multiple rooms (dry and steamed) for cleaning the body and soul according to traditional ritual performed by another person.) Our staff is always at your service! Overnight stay in the hotel.
At the end of our adventure together, we will bring you to the airport and wish you a pleasant journey home.
